Temporary outage while deploying release update

While deploying our release at 7:20pm EST on February 2, we experienced a temporary outage in our REST and Activity API. We immediately noticed the issue with the deployment and rolled back our codebase which brought the Activity API back online at 7:23pm, resulting in 2 minutes of downtime. We also rolled back our REST API immediately which brought the REST API back online at 7:28pm, resulting in 7 minutes of downtime.

This issue was due to an environment variable not properly being set prior to deploying our production code. We rectified the issue immediately and successfully deployed the update to production immediately after.

**Note:** All Activities sent via the Activity API were logged by the system successfully while we were down, so any events sent from your websites and apps were captured.
